The numbers are a bit sketchy, but the first guy painting them on got eaten, so the guy that finished them up was in a bit of a rush.

Snotling Blood Bowl
Those keeping up to date know that I failed the "wife's away do nothing but paint" painting challenge. But really, this is more about having fun and less about delivering on promises...

Snotling Progress
Day 1 of the Snotling BB team challenge.
So I put in a solid 8 hours. The first 30 min was spent sorting out the skin color. To do this I made a grid of yellows and blues, and blended them to see what happens.
While this was instructive I ultimately abandoned this approach; the test heads were deemed unacceptable. Instead I opted for a primary yellow a dark biege, light biege and Citadel's new contrast paint "Warp Lightening" green. The pigmentation can only be described as psychotic, and it's an awesome glaze.
I only focused on the skin for today, going with the batch paint approach.
I also based the eyes in pure white, to help make them pop when the time comes.
Holy shit! Top left in the above! An escapee. FU@$!!!!
And here I thought I was done for today...

Wood Elf + Turf
Well, there's grass on the pitch, so it's time to play ball! These silly little fairies are going to get curb stomped by their Undead opposition. I need to paint the ball, seal the grass, paint their hair "scrunchies", and then spray the lot. I've got a week so it should be possible.

Wood Elf Blood Bowl Team
Minus a football, everything is painted, so these are by definition "table" ready. From here on out I'll have to work on them as singles.
Almost mission completed.

Blood Bowl, "Speed Painting"
The Elves are still cooking. I think the photos look worse than they do in reality, which is odd, since the opposite is what I usually encounter.
Anyhow here's the situation. I'm continuing to throw paint at them all with the Hope's that if I can get them done all equally badly I'll at least be able to field the team, and if I win, I'll think about refining the whole lot.
"Table-Top" is a thing.... I just made a label for it! LOL
DMGWLFP (or in the case of table-top, don't miss acceptable while looking for completion).

Blood Bowl. The Elves Are Coming
Nonthing like an impending trip to get things going. My classic (Forge World) Wood Elf team is in the works. Green and yellow all the way! To help differentiate the players, I put the linemen on round bases, while the throwers, catchers, and wardancers are on square.
Right now all that I've managed to do is block some of the color. I think that elves are pale, so I based all the flesh in Ceramite White, with the hopes that skin tones will go on thin and light, we'll see how this goes. The leggings were based with Caliban Green, and the yellow shoulder pads were based with Averland Sunset. These models are "Forge World" originals, as as such they lack the intricate details of more modern sculpts. This is most obvious in the lack of excessive trinkets and such. As well it's not clear which are wearing tunics and which are not, so I went with all topless (who said elves had class). In reality there is some sign of a neckline on most, but I'm going to turn these into necklacesh.

Blood Bowl Dwarf Team
So... everyone go numbers! The Blood Bowl team is really coming together. As soon as I get a new lamp I'm going to finish off the edge highlights and some gems and trinkets and things.
Linemen wear their numbers on the front right shoulder, and their left side. On their backs they wear the team crest.

Blitzers have a large number on their back and a small number on the front left shoulder pad.

Troll slayers wear their digits on their back, and their left shoulder. With number 13 wearing his upside-down for luck...

Runners display their numbers on their left shoulder and their back, while their right shoulder carries the team crest.

Some of the pictures are a little shaky, must be time for a drink... Also gotta start thinking about the DEATHROLLER!!! hahaha.

Prime Time
Happy New Year!
Today, we got our prime on, big time.
We scored mad amounts of loot over the holidays. Treats from Reaper, and Forge World as well as some random Canadian company, RAFM Miniatures, who's been around for 35 years and is the official Reaper distributer in Canada. The items are, Mites, Goblins, Whirling Death, some monsters, and a Wood Elf Blood Bowl team.

NMM Gold, New Recipe
NMM Gold has the most tutorials of any NMM style on the web, but that's not stopping me from doing my own! Here is my new recipe.
You want to start with a nice even coat of white. Here im layering White Scar over my flat gray primer.
After several thin coats of white scar the surface should be fairly even in appearance. The next step is to layer up with Balor Brown. Try to go very even and thin. A glaze/wash is what we are after.
Thin out some White Scar, as much as you dare and come back in and pick out some of the highlights. Here I did the crown and tips and upper flat surfaces.
Now make a wash of Mournfang Brown and wash it into the recesses. Next is to layer up with glazes of Balor Brown, leaving the recesses. Start thinking about where the highlights are going to be.
Now start layering with a glaze of Averland Sunset, and keep adding White Scar to keep working up the highlights. Save the pure white for point sources. If things stray too far glaze back in with straight Averland Sunset. Work it until you like it.
Remember, when painting for gaming, quantity trumps quality, for sure DMGWLFP!
