Dwarf Cleric Ivar

I'm not sure why the Dwarf Clerics run around with anvils and such, but it does make for a cool mini. This is of course a Reaper mini (14039: Ivar, Dwarf Priest, Werner Klocke).
He went that a-way

I wan YOU!

Not a whole lot to say about this. I salvaged the cloak, but then I was drinking red wine and the "gems" on his arms ended up looking a bit like coals on fire, so I stopped. Remember DMGWLFP...

Kit Bash Horned Hunter

My first conversion! The original figure came with a bow, with a quiver and a sword on his back. It was pretty cool, but not bad ass, I wanted him to be bad ass. You can view the original here (https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/horned%20hunter/sku-down/60100). He's called The Horned Hunter (Reaper #60100 by Bobby Jackson). Anyhow after some cutting and drilling I equipped him with an epic halberd and a small shield. This was my new year painting project, he even went on the trip.

I really liked how the gem stones on his forearms came out, and I also like the blood I added to the blade of the weapon.

Welby

Welby is a Halfling that I painted up from my friend for D&D. The Reaper Miniature part number is 02769 (Woody, by Werner Klocke). I was super happy with how his cloak came out as well as the leg armor. Actually, I was super happy with the whole piece, particularly due to his small size.

The person I painted him for did all the prep work, including sharpening the sword... Which, at his request, I left completely un-painted (the metal actually looked pretty awesome).

Which Witch is Which

This is  Runelord Alaznist (Reaper Miniatures # 6008). I introduced her into my D&D campaign as a Witch in Shadowfell. She sent the intrepid adventurers off to procure her some new displacer beasts. Yeah, she likes exotic pets.

I also liked the cape.
I painted her eyes a solid color to make her look possessed. I'm not sure it worked as well as I had intended. I also took a crack at NMM gold for the arm bracers. That worked out far better than I expected, so I decided to quit while I was ahead.

Loot

Loot came in the mail, fresh from Reaper Miniatures. Skulls (02611: Skulls), bone pack (03537: Bone Pack), two weapon packs (14295: Necropolis Weapons; 14448: Overlord Weapons), and three 25th Anniversary Reapers (01600: Reaper Silver Anniversary - Grim Reaper). One for my best friend and two for me.

The reaper figure is big, note WIP dwarf on to the left, attached to cork.  :D

Juliette

I have no idea who Bobby Jackson is, but I really like his sculpts. Reaper has a lot of his miniatures, and this one is Juliette (Reaper # 03547). I think I took the highlights a little brighter than was totally necessary, but they really pop on the table top.

Dwarf Captain

I like a lot of the Reaper dwarfs, they tend to have cool faces, and good proportions. I spent ages sorting through them (pretty big selection) trying to find one that could represent my D&D character. In the end I couldn't decide which one to get, so I bought three! I got two "clerics" and a "fighter". So far only the fighter is finished, and I'm pretty pleased with how he turned out. For this mini I had two goals; try and do some gem stones, and experiment with non-metallic paint for the metal parts.

The other two miniatures I picked up are Reaper #14324 (Dwarf Warlord), and Reaper #14039 (Dwarf Priest). The latter is coming along nicely, the former is a long way off (he may be primed).

In the beginning.

Before the beginning, there was a 3 pack of marines... only one was completed to an acceptable level, and it wasn't the blue guy! The blue guy was done with some random paint, that didn't behave at all well. Mr Yellow was much better, but required the procurement of GW paints.

Then I found the Bones. They're cheap, and, as with most things, you get what you pay for. That's fine. I wanted to get back into painting, so this seemed like a logical place to start. Introduce IMEF troopers. The goal of the squad was to try and learn how to do the visors with the sky reflections. I was happy with the results, and stopped there.

What is Hack Mini Painter?

This is where I, (Hack Mini Painter, aka. The Hack), post pictures of minis that I've painted. Occasionally I'll include other peoples work as well, but mostly it's a way for me to keep track of things I've completed. We'll see what happens.
